Water Testing & Analysis in Fishers, IN

Every other page on this site depends on this one. Nothing gets recommended, sized or installed until somebody has measured what is actually coming out of the tap.

The Test Comes Before the Recommendation

There is a version of this industry where the test is theatre: somebody comes to the house, drops a tablet into a vial, the water turns a dramatic color, and the conversation moves straight to financing a system. We are not interested in running that. A water test is a measurement, the measurement produces numbers, and the numbers either justify equipment or they do not. Plenty of the tests we run end with us telling someone their water is fine and they do not need us.

On-site we can measure the things that give immediate answers: hardness in grains per gallon, free chlorine and chloramine, total dissolved solids, pH, iron and a visual turbidity assessment. That covers the great majority of residential questions on municipal supply and takes about twenty minutes at the kitchen counter, with the numbers written down for you whether you buy anything or not.

Some things need a laboratory. Coliform and E. coli, nitrate, lead, arsenic, VOCs and a full well panel all require a sample sent out and a few days' turnaround. On a private well, that lab panel is not optional — it is the only way to know whether the water is biologically safe, and we would rather you spent money on the test than on equipment chosen without one.

What Gets Tested

On-site for the immediate questions, laboratory for the ones that matter most.

  • Hardness in grains per gallon

The number that sizes a softener, sets its regeneration and predicts your annual salt cost. Everything about hard water starts here.

  • Chlorine and chloramine, measured separately

Because they are removed by different media. This single distinction decides whether a carbon system will work or disappoint.

  • Total dissolved solids and pH

TDS as the baseline against which any RO system is judged, and pH because aggressive low-pH water attacks copper and because oxidizing media need a pH range to function.

  • Iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide

Including the form the iron is in, which is what actually decides the treatment. A total iron figure on its own designs nothing.

  • Bacteria screening on wells

Coliform and E. coli through a laboratory, which is the one result that outranks everything else on a private supply.

  • Full lab panels when they are warranted

Nitrate, lead, arsenic and VOCs where the well, the plumbing age or the property history gives a reason to look.

How a Test Visit Goes

Step 1

We talk before we test

What you have noticed — taste, staining, scale, smell, skin, laundry. The symptoms point at which tests matter.

Step 2

We test at the tap, in front of you

No vials taken away to a van. The readings happen on your counter and you see every one of them.

Step 3

We write the numbers down

On paper, with what each one means and what the normal range is. Yours to keep regardless of what you decide.

Step 4

We send samples out where needed

Wells, suspected lead, or anything the on-site kit cannot answer honestly. Results in a few days and we go through them with you.

Step 5

We recommend the smallest thing that solves it

Sometimes that is a system. Often it is a cartridge, an anode rod, or nothing at all. We say which.

What You Get Out of It

Numbers you keep

Written results, yours whether you hire us or not. Take them to another company for comparison if you want to — we would rather you had a real baseline.

No pressure at the counter

We do not do same-day-only pricing and we do not need a decision while we are standing there. Think about it.

A baseline for later

Water changes, especially on wells. Having last year's numbers is what lets you see a problem developing instead of discovering it.

On every job of this kind

  • Results written down and left with you
  • Chlorine and chloramine tested separately
  • Lab panels on every well
  • No same-day pricing pressure
